Masters champion Danny Willett returns to action on the European Tour this weekend at the Irish Open.

The 28-year-old played in America last week, at The Players Championship. He took a four-week break from golf after winning the Masters. His son Zach was born only 12 days before the triumph at Augusta.

Willett revealed at the K-Club, that despite the win that will undoubtedly change the rest of his career, he hopes to continue setting goals for himself. "People's expectations are obviously a lot bigger. Your own expectations, you try not to make then take over and just keep trying to do your thing."

The world number nine also admitted that the demands placed on him last week at Sawgrass was surprising. Willett missed the midway cut by a single stroke.

"Last week was a little bit busier than I was expecting. That took a lot of energy out of me. It's never good to miss a cut, but in a way it got me home a little earlier to see the little man and Nic (wife Nicole) and relax a little bit."

The Sheffield native has finished in the top-ten in the Irish Open in the last three years. His best finish came in 2014 when he finished in a tie for third place at Fota Island, two shots behind winner Mikko Ilonen.

Willett has been paired with Lee Westwood (who he played with in the final round of the Masters) and Rafa Cabrero-Bello. The trio tee-off at 1.35 on Thursday and 8.35 on Friday.
