UFC welterweight contender Darren Till is backing Conor McGregor to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov if a super-fight between the pair takes place.

The Irishman hasn't been seen in the octagon since stopping Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in New York in November 2016 to claim the lightweight title.

He has since been stripped of the title after failing to defend the belt and is currently awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings after an incident in a loading bay at a UFC event in Brooklyn.

Speaking to Off the Ball's Niall McGrath on Saturday, the welterweight contender would like to be on the same card as a McGregor-Nurmagomedov bout and has changed his opinion on how he sees the fight going.

"That for me is the fight of the whole MMA game: Conor-Khabib. I'm very confident now (that it will happen). I've seen Conor back in the gym - Khabib wants it and before I actually predicted that Khabib would edge it in five rounds - now I'm sort of going towards Conor.

"Listen mate, Khabib's an animal - he's a f**king sick dude - so is Conor. People write him off because they think Khabib is going to 'rag-doll' him - you're not going to 'rag-doll' him. He's got to be careful to try and 'rag-doll' him because if you come in that distance - I know how it works - you've got to be careful. It's a great f**king fight so maybe the undercard of that, let's see," he added.

Till is currently on a four fight win streak and is waiting to see who his next opponent is after beating Stephen Thompson in May and wants welterweight champion Tyron Woodley to make his intentions clear to unlock the current stalemate within the division.
