Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly has failed in his bid to have a 12-week ban overturned.
In a statement released by the GAA on Wednesday morning, they revealed that Connolly's ban for a "Minor physical interference with a Linesman" would be imposed for the original length that was proposed last week.

Connolly was alleged to have made contact with Linesman Ciaran Branagan in Dublin's Leinster Championship quarter-final win over Carlow earlier this month.
The ban was proposed last week, and it was revealed at the start of this week that the Dublin footballer appealed the ban. He could still continue to appeal his ban and bring it towards the Central Appeals Committee.
If Connolly decides to appeal the ban once more and loses, the 12-week ban will mean he would only return for Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-finals should the reigning All-Ireland champions get that far.
It was also confirmed on Wednesday morning that Carlow's Brendan Murphy will not miss their All-Ireland Qualifer against London.
Murphy was sent off against Dublin after receiving two yellow cards, but after appealing the decision, it was adjudged that the first yellow card was given in error.
