Disappointing finish for Rory McIlroy on Day 1 at WGC Cadillac

Scott Piercy leads the way while Shane Lowry is also in action

Rory McIlroy had a disappointing finish to his opening round at the WGC Cadillac Championship.

After finding the water with his tee-shot, McIlroy carded a double-bogey five on his final hole that saw him finish with a 1-under par 71 at the Blue Monster Course in Doral.

American Scott Piercy leads the field on 6-under par after carding an opening-round 66.

Shane Lowry was on 1-under par after playing the last hole of his round.

Graeme McDowell finished the day on 2-over.
