With the close of the season comes the inevitable discussion about what players merit a spot in the team of the year and who has been the stand out performer in the league.

While there can be little doubt over the most outstanding team of the season, it is always interesting to see what players make up the Team of the Year.

John Terry is sure to spark debate among many as he posted his selections on Instagram:

The Chelsea captain has opted for just the seven Leicester City players in his starting XI, as well as West Ham's dead ball specialist, Dmitri Payet.

Harry Kane also makes the cut for Men's Young Player of the Year, while Riyad Mahrez is put forward as this season's best overall performer.
