Dublin GAA to stay with O'Neills because of a "loyalty factor"

Last week, reports claimed that the Dublin County Board were considering signing a new kit deal with a European manufacturer.

It has been revealed that Dublin GAA are to stay with O'Neills because of a loyalty factor. Speaking to the Irish Independent, Dublin chairman Sean Shanley stated; "If it was only about finance we would have changed. There was a loyalty factor there too." O'Neills are the only manufacturers with a base in Dublin and they were there for the county when things weren't going well.

A move by the Dublin County Board to leave the Irish kit manufacturer, could have opened up the GAA kit market to foreign companies. Currently, Waterford and Sligo are the only two counties who do not use the Antrim-based companies products.

Kerry were the last county to use a foreign kit sponsor. In 1998, the then reigning All-Ireland champions famously used Adidas jerseys that were manufactured by a Dublin-based company.
