Irish teams learn their fate in Europe

Dundalk have been handed a tough draw for their Champions League second qualifying round tie.

Stephen Kenny's men will play their first tie at home against Norwegian champions, Rosenborg BK.

The Scandanavian side have won back-to-back league titles and five of the last 11 on offer. Kenny has come up against Rosenborg previously - he was in charge at Bohemians when they were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by the Eliteserien side.

The fixtures will take place on Tuesday July 11 or Wednesday July 12, with the return fixture happening a week later.

Meanwhile, there is a potential clash between Northern Irish side Linfield and Scottish Premiership champions, Celtic.

Linfield will have to overcome San Marino's La Fiorita.

In the Europa League, Cork City will face Levadia Tallinn of Estonia and Shamrock Rovers will take on Stjarnan of Iceland.

Derry City have been handed the toughest draw of the Irish sides in the Europa League, they'll face Danish side FC Midtjylland.
