Dustin Johnson can become the new world number one if he wins the Genesis Open in California later today and Jason Day finishes tied third or worse.

The 2016 US Open champion leads the field by six shots heading into the final round on Sunday.

He had to finish his third round earlier on after the tournament was interrupted by bad weather. His closest challenger is Wesley Brown on 11 under par with Justin Rose, Jimmy Walker and Kevin Na a further shot back.

Padraig Harrington sits on four under when his final round got under way. Current world number one Jason Day began his final round on two over.
