Eddie O'Sullivan's got a positive view of Connacht's ability to stay the course

Eddie O'Sullivan is backing Connacht to stay the course and finish in a strong position in the Guinness Pro 12.

The former Ireland head coach and Grenoble coach Bernard Jackman joined Off The Ball to review the progress of the Irish provinces after a weekend which saw Connacht defeat Munster at Thomond Park to stay top of the table and Leinster's grinding out a win over Ulster.

"On the basis of what we've seen so far, absolutely I can see them being right at the business end of the season and the way it's going at the moment, they could be right up there and they could have three or four Irish provinces in the final playoff," said Eddie of an in-form Connacht.

Bernard, meanwhile, says of Munster "you wouldn't saying they'd be contenders for the Champions Cup" based on some of their performances, even if many results have been positive.

Eddie and Bernard also discussed the news of Ronan O'Gara reportedly turning down an IRFU approach to join the Ireland coaching set-up and how he should look to develop his coaching career.
