For Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, his former midfielder N'Golo Kante is like a battery-powered machine.

The France international has become famed for his high energy approach which played a key role in Leicester's Premier League title triumph last season.

"He was running so hard that I thought he must have a pack full of batteries hidden in his shorts. He never stopped running in training," Ranieri recalled when discussing the player in a self-written article last season.

Compliments have rained for Kante in the past twelve months as he went from a relative unknown to one of the most sought-after players in world football.

Many sought him but ultimately Chelsea bought him. New team-mate Eden Hazard, who has re-found his own form of late, was very complimentary of the player although not in the most poetic way.

Hazard told Chelsea TV: "[Kante] gives us confidence. We want to try to dribble and to pass the opponent because we know even if we try but don’t pass the opponent and if we lose the ball then he is there behind us, he can take the ball. He is a fantastic player. He is a like a rat, he goes everywhere and he has a top mentality and is a top guy. It is always good to play with the top players."

It got a little bit lost in translation when the word "rat" was put to him:
