Brazilian club Chapecoense have been coming to terms with the tragic events of last week, after their plane crashed on the way to a Copa Sudamericana tie with Colombian side Atletico Nacional.
The team from the small Brazilian city of Chapecó had been on a dream run, rising from the lower divisions to competing in the continent's equivalent of the Europa League, but the crash in the Medellin mountains claimed the lives of 71 people, including 19 of the team's players.
Chapecoense are set to be named the champions of the Copa Sudamericana, after their rivals in the final asked that CONMEBOL posthumously award them the honour.
On Sunday, 100,000 people attended a service in memory of the players in their hometown, and with one eye on the future, a number of people at the club have spoken about the task of rebuilding that lies ahead of them.
Cecilio Hans, a club director, stated: "In the memory of those who died and to honor their families, we will rebuild this club from scratch so it is even stronger," while goalkeeper Marcelo Boeck added that the side now "hope we can help rebuild in the memory of our team."
A number of clubs both in Brazil and further afield have offered to loan them players to help in that effort, while former Brazilian and Argentine internationals Ronaldinho and Juan Roman Riquelme have also stated they would join the club as they look to rebuild their squad in the wake of the tragedy. The latest player to add his name to that list is Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The Icelandic legend took to Twitter on Sunday evening to state that he too would offer his services to the club if they needed him, and welcomed the chance to reunite with his former Barcelona team-mate Ronaldinho.

The tragedy was marked in a number of grounds around the world with a moment's silence over the past week, while on Saturday, Chelsea's David Luiz avoided the questions about the ugly scenes at the end of the game against Manchester City, and instead pointed to the tragic loss of life in the wake of the crash.
"Now I think, we just need to pray for the families to comfort their hearts," said Luiz. "It's a difficult moment for everybody."
