El Salvador's national team says they have rejected an offer of cash incentives ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Canada later.

The squad says a businessman offered them payments that increased the better their result was.

The team appeared at a press conference where they played a recording of the alleged bribery attempt.

Honduras could need El Salvador to avoid a heavy defeat in the match to make it into the next round, if they lose away to Mexico.

El Salvador can't qualify for Russia 2018.
