England head coach Eddie Jones has compared the Irish rugby team's kicking-based game to Aussie Rules.

The English are the next opponents for Joe Schmidt's side in the Six Nations next weekend.

Jones, who coached Japan impressively during the World Cup, did praise Ireland as "a clever side", "one of the best coached sides in world rugby" and "very resourceful".

"We've got to win the Aussie Rules contest That is the first thing we have got to do. They kick 60% of their possession. If we can win that Aussie Rules battle, we will go a long way to winning the game," he said in comments which are being interpreted as kicking off the mind games battle.

Ireland play England, who have won two from two so far, on February 27th.
