England name 26 man squad ahead of Twickenham clash with Wales and Australian tour

Eddie Jones has named a 26 man squad for England's upcoming clash against Wales in Twickenham, with danny Cipriani being recalled into the set up.

The 28-year-old has been in fine form for Sale Sharks this season where as his direct competitors for the 10 jersey have faltered somewhat, with George Ford having an indifferent season with Bath while Jones seems to prefer Owen Farrell at 12.

Eight uncapped player join Cipriani in the squad while players from the Prmiership's top four have been left out, with the semi-final stages of the competition happening soon.

“The Brighton training camp is a good opportunity for England to get together and train hard ahead of the Wales game and summer tour,” said Jones.

“While we will be without those players involved in the Premiership semi-finals it’s crucial that we spend as much time together as possible.

“We have an important game at Twickenham at the end of the month and then a challenging tour to Australia. There’s lots of hard work to be done if we are going to play with the intensity needed to beat southern hemisphere teams.

“Tour places are still up for grabs and I expect the players in this camp, as well as those involved in the play-offs, to continue to make their case for selection.”

England’s 26-man training squad:

Forwards: Dave Attwood, Kieran Brookes, Jack Clifford, Charlie Ewels, Dylan Hartley, Teimana Harrison, Paul Hill, Mat Kvesic, Courtney Lawes, Joe Marler, Chris Robshaw, Kyle Sinckler, Tommy Taylor.

Backs: Mike Brown, Luther Burrell, Danny Care, Danny Cipriani, Ollie Devoto, George Ford, Jonathan Joseph, Mike Haley, Alex Lewington, Semesa Rokoduguni, Anthony Watson, Marland Yarde, Micky Young.
