Eva Carneiro attends constructive dismissal hearing

Ex-Chelsea medic Dr Eva Carneiro arrived at a tribunal court today to attend a constructive dismissal hearing concerning her departure from the Chelsea football club.

Carneiro was stood down from her position in the first team after head coach Jose Mourinho criticised both her, and physio Jon Fearn, for entering the pitch to treat Eden Hazard during their first game of the 2015/2016 season against Swansea.

Mourinho fumed about the incident, accusing Fearn and Carneiro of being ''impulsive and naive'' as it temporarily left his side with nine players on the pitch. Dr Carneiro did not appear on the bench again and later left the club.

Dr Carneiro arrived at the London South Employment Tribunal along with her husband for a private hearing which will be held before an employment judge. The hearing will allow for parties to agree to a settlement which would prevent the situation from escalating into a public hearing where former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho would have to give evidence.

The 42-year-old doctor also has a separate legal action against Mourinho for alleged victimisation and discrimination. The Football Association cleared the ex-Chelsea boss of discrimination charges but was criticised by Carneiro and FA's independent board member, Dame Heather Rabbatts, for allegedly not interviewing Carneiro as part of the investigation.
