Phil Bardsley gives his take on a post-Van Gaal future
Former Manchester United full-back Phil Bardsley reckons Jose Mourinho only offers a "quick fix" for the club.
The Stoke defender, who spent 10 years in United's youth ranks before making 18 senior appearances, is backing Ryan Giggs as the man to step up to the plate when Louis van Gaal's time at the club ends.
"I think Jose is a quick-fix," the former Sunderland full-back told BBC's Match of the Day 2 Extra.
"Is he the right man for Man United? I’m not too sure. If it was me, it would be Ryan Giggs. I'd employ people that have made the club so successful over the years and bring them all back and hopefully bring some silverware back."
Rumours abound that Mourinho and Man United are to agree a deal that would see the Portuguese succeed Louis van Gaal.
