FAI to charge Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers after derby crowd trouble

The FAI have announced that they will charge both Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers after fan disturbances marred the derby between both sides on Friday night.

Towards the end of Rovers' 4-0 win at Dalymount Park, violence broke out which led riot police to intervene.

"The Football Association of Ireland will charge Bohemian FC and Shamrock Rovers following clashes between supporters at Dalymount Park last Friday night," they said in a statement.

"The FAI today reviewed the Referee’s and Match Delegate’s reports following a number of incidents during the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixture.

"It was decided that formal charges are to be brought against both clubs, who have been invited to a disciplinary hearing at FAI HQ in Abbotstown, on Wednesday, April 20.

"Separately, representatives of the FAI’s Stadia and Security Committee, is to meet with representatives of Bohemian FC to discuss matters arising from Friday night’s fixture.

"The FAI utterly condemns the behaviour of a number of individuals who were involved in the disturbance at Dalymount Park."
