FIFA could postpone their presidential election

FIFA could consider delaying next year's presidential elections.

A successor to the outgoing and currently suspended Sepp Blatter is due to be confirmed next February.

An emergency meeting of FIFA's executive committee looks likely to happen within the next fortnight, and a Belgian delegate says a postponement could be discussed there.

There will be a meeting of UEFA's member associations in Switzerland next week, amid the suspensions announced yesterday.

Meanwhile, former FIFA vice-president Chung Mong-joon is ready to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to try to overturn a lengthy ban from football's world governing body.

He has been given a six-year suspension.

The South Korean billionaire claims he has been punished because of his strong criticism of the organisation, while FIFA says he is guilty of multiple violations of its code of ethics.
