As the Premier League hits the hectic winter schedule, it's an important time for your Fantasy Premier League team.

And if you haven't made use of your wildcard yet, you're running out of time to avail of it as Eoin Sheahan explains on Team 33's festive Fantasy preview.

"So the thing with the wildcard is you need to use it before this Gameweek or before the next Gameweek. It needs to be used before December 30th at 7pm. So that Gameweek, the games kick off at 8pm on the eve of New Year's Eve on the Friday evening," Eoin explains.

"Before 7pm that evening, you need to have your wildcard completed otherwise you're going to waste it. You're not going to get two wildcards in the second semester. You've got one wildcard for each half of the season and this one needs to be used before then. It's actually really good timing for it because we haven't used it yet."

Chelsea's Diego Costa has been the standout forward this season amid Sergio Aguero's suspensions but with the Blues forward banned for one match, a temporary removal from your team may well be the way to go for one week.

"There's probably a good shout for getting rid of Diego Costa for this week and bringing in somebody like a Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who's got Sunderland at home this week, and then using your wildcard to move your funds back around and get Costa and of course Aguero back into your team," says Eoin.

As he explains, the option of a wildcard mitigates the lack of availability of both Costa and Aguero in this upcoming gameweek, and gives you the ability to bring them back.

On the podcast, the merits of Harry Kane are also discussed as well as the return of Southampton's Jay Rodriguez.
