Gerry Adams apologises for using racial slur on Twitter

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has apologised for using a racial slur in a post on Twitter.

The Sinn Fein president posted the offending tweet late on Sunday night while watching the Quentin Tarrantino film Django Unchained. It read: "Watching Django Unchained - A Ballymurphy N*****!"

Nearly 600 cyclists fined in first six months of new penalties

Nearly 600 cyclists received on-the-spot fines for cycling offences in the first six-months of the new penalty regime.

Fines were introduced for seven offences at the end of last July and 577 people were issued with a fine by the end of January.

Conor McGregor lets everyone know who he wants to fight next

It seemed the dust had finally settled on the 'retirement' fiasco and normal ordered had been restored in the UFC. 

Following the events of recent weeks, Conor McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 and his rematch with Nate Diaz was off for the time being, with Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar set to meet in the octagon for the interim featherweight belt.

UFC president Dana White stated that the winner will face the Dubliner in a unification bout, but it's not the fight that McGregor wants...

Just a few weeks have passed since the untimely death of Prince, and still his absence is being keenly felt throughout the world.

At the age of just 57, the 'Nothing Comapres 2 U' singer and writer was found dead at the end of April, just days after suffering a medical emergency. At a private ceremony, his brother-in-law revealed that the pop star worked 154 hours straight before suddenly passing away. 

Record sales of his work have soared in recent weeks and musical legends including Bruce Springsteen have sung tribute renditions of his most famous creations. On Sunday, the Dixie Chicks honoured him in their own distinctively tasteful way during their London stop-off as part of their world tour.
