Former NFL punter writes an open letter to Donald Trump about "locker room" talk

A former NFL punter has written an open letter to Donald Trump, about the locker room talk that Trump claims regularly takes place around America.

In a video released last week, Trump was overheard speaking about women in a derogatory tone in 2005. He compared his comments to what takes place in sports team environments.

The video shows Trump speaking Billy Bush of the celebrity show Access Hollywood about a woman he tried to seduce. He is heard to say: "I did try and f*** her. She was married.

"I moved on her like a b****, but I couldn't get there."

He also brags about women letting him kiss and grope them because he is famous. Mr Trump said: "I just start kissing them. And when you're a star they let you do it"

"Grab them by the p****. You can do anything."

Chris Kluwe, who played for Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders has written an article for the American website Vox, where he states what happens in American locker rooms is very different to what Trump imagines.

"You're wrong, and only the type of wrong an over-tanned ham hock like yourself can accomplish, plummeting past the morass of gross incivility into the abyss of depraved sociopathy", Kluwe wrote.

"How do I know this?" Kluwe added. "Simple. I was in an NFL locker room for eight years, the very definition of the macho, alpha male environment you're so feebly trying to evoke to protect yourself, and not once did anyone approach your breathtaking depths of arrogant imbecility... I played a couple years with a guy who later turned out to be a serial rapist. Even he never talked like that."

Kluwe stated that locker room talks cover a wide variety of topics such as family, travelling, money, taxes, jokes and women. It was Kluwe's comments on women though that were most passionate.

"Most guys respect women, some guys don't, but never have I heard anyone use your particularly disgusting brand of sadism that refers to women as objects and not people. Even the most debauched club-hopping party animal talks about women more civilly than you."
