Poacher picks Harte's Tyrone: "One of biggest strengths is flexibility in their system"

Carlow manager Steven Poacher is expecting the winner of Sunday's semi-final between Tyrone and Monaghan to have overcome battle of tactics.

Speaking on this morning's OTB AM the Down man says the tactical implementation is a crucial aspect of Sunday's contest.

"For me - One of biggest strengths is the flexibility in their system, and their adaptability. For example - Peter Harte tends to line out at wing half-back in a lot of first-half games; and the second-half of games moves to centre-half forward.

Poacher is adamant Harte's team control the ball extremely well in possession.

He described Harte's men as a team of footballers who can adapt to games regardless of what position they are playing in.

"Tyrone are all very, very comfortable on the ball. They are all good footballers, first and foremost. Mickey like to fill his team with footballers. For example - Frank Burns has spent this season at centre-half back. Yet, regularly Frankie Burns would be seen lining out for his club at full-forward.

The Carlow manager says he sees vast improvements in Tyrone. Especially with their strength and conditioning.

" A stand out aspect was their strength and conditioning levels. Peter Donnelly has done a fantastic job there over the last couple of years. He was with Cavan and the results spoke for themselves, said Poacher'

Carlow manager Poacher believes Tyrone's squad depth may be the difference against Monaghan on Sunday in Croke Park.

"Their bench scored 2-5 or 2-6 against Donegal. Lee Brennan is a serious talent, a wonderful footballer. He's coming off the bench when defences are stretched.

Steven Poacher believes there is a huge amount of belief in Harte's squad that they will be able to win this All-Ireland title with a win over O'Rourke's men.

"There will be a serious level of belief in that Tyrone camp that they can win this All-Ireland"
