As expected, All-Ireland hurling champions Galway dominate the 2017 PWC All-Stars, which were announced this morning.
The Tribesmen take seven of the selections, with five for runner-up Waterford. Munster champions Cork have two players selected, while Padrac Maher is the sole Tipperary representative.
Six of the team are winning their first All-Stars, among them Déise goalkeeper Stephen O’Keefe.
There are two Galway selections in the full back line in Padraic Mannion and Daithi Burke, along with Waterford’s Noel Connors.
Tipperary’s Padraic Maher wins an incredible fifth All-Star at wing back, while Galway’s Gearoid McInerney is also included, along with Young Hurler of the Year nominee Mark Coleman of Cork.

For the second year in a row, Jamie Barron and David Burke make up midfield. Barron will find out his Hurler of the Year fate tomorrow night.
The two other Hurler of the Year contenders are included in the half forward line. Kevin Moran wins a second All-Star, while Joe Canning earns his fourth. There’s also a fourth award for Waterford’s Michael ‘Brick’ Walsh.
Galway pair Conor Whelan and Conor Cooney are named in the full forward line, while Patrick Horgan of Cork completes the side, having helped the Rebels to the Munster title in July.
The Hurler and Young Hurler of the Year will be announced at tomorrow night’s ceremony in Dublin, along with the football awards.
