Cavan rallied back in Castlebar to score a much needed win against Mayo. A Gearoid McKiernan goal just before half-time proved crucial as they continue their bid to avoid relegation danger.

The winning margin could have been bigger however, had a late goal from Dara McVeety not been ruled out.

Roscommon's winless run in the top Division continued again today, as they lost out to a Monaghan side that was inspired by Jack McCarron's personal tally of 1-07. The Connacht side are all but guaranteed to be relegated to Division 2 after failing to secure a single victory so far in this league campaign.

Meanwhile in Division 2, Galway hit five goals on the way to an emphatic victory against Derry, as they continue to chase promotion.
