Westmeath scored three second-half goals to defeat Offaly in their Leinster SFC quarter-final replay on Saturday afternoon.

John Heslin, John Egan and Kieran Martin were all on target as Tom Cribbin's side dumped Offaly out of the Leinster football championship for a second consecutive season.

The home-side lead by four points at half-time, and Egan's goal extended their lead to six after 51 minutes. But a determined Offaly brought the deficit back to three points in the final 10 minutes.

Two more goals from Westmeath in the concluding stages finally killed off Offaly's challenge with an 11-point win.

Westmeath will now progress to meet Dublin in the semi-final, while Cavan await Offaly in the qualifiers.
