Galway United off the bottom after Derry City draw

Galway United and Derry City were unable to get the better of each other at Terryland Park as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

The result and ensuing point lifts Galway off the bottom of the table, as they move level on points with St Patrick's Athletic.

But Pats are bottom on goal difference as Galway's recent upturn in terms of results puts them back in the mix for survival.

Shane Keegan's side are now three points from safety, with Bohemians occupying fourth from bottom in a season when three go down automatically.

Meanwhile, Derry City are fourth in the table, two points behind third placed Dundalk.
