Graeme McDowell says he won't beat himself up about missing a few presentable opportunities during his third round at the British Masters.
The Northern Irish golfer is on 10-under and six off leader Alex Noren with one more round of action to play.
He had just one bogey across the 18 holes on Day 3.
But after making a good start on the front nine, he feels that more could have been achieved on the back nine.
"Yeah, fast start. Through 10 holes I was fairly charged up. [I was] 5-under for the day through 10, coming into the tough part of the course for sure. But I gave myself some nice looks at it and hit a couple of weak iron shots and managed to hang in there and hang in there, gave myself some great opportunities on 15 and 16 which I couldn't take and then a disappointing six at the last," he told the European Tour's Nick Dye.
"It's one of those things. I lighted up in the trap, left myself a difficult bunker shot on 18 and once I hadn't got it over the top of the shoulder, I was in big trouble. So it is what it is. I'm not going to beat myself up. I was really happy with a lot of things that I saw today and all week really. So I'm looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow."
And McDowell is looking at the positives regarding what can be achieved on the final day's action on Sunday.
"I was standing over that putt for five on the last, trying to tell myself that isn't a do or die. We got a big day ahead tomorrow, we've got lots of putts that we've got to make. So I've just got to try and stay relaxed. I'm going to have to go low tomorrow to win but anyone who's going to win tomorrow will have to go low. So it's probably going to take 64, 65 to do it but I feel the way I'm playing [that] I'm more than capable," he said.
