Graham Henry: Ireland v All-Blacks 2013 "prime example of turning the impossible into the possible"

Graham Henry has cited the 2013 memorable clash between Ireland and New Zealand as an example of "turning the impossible into the possible".

The 2011 World Cup-winning head coach is currently in Ireland, serving as a consultant for Leinster on a short-term contract and spoke to Off The Ball's Ger Gilroy about how he played a part in moulding an All-Blacks winning machine that went on to win another World Cup.

Henry discussed the importance of mental skills under pressure within the New Zealand setup to supplement their already imperious physical and technical attributes, citing the 2013 clash between the All-Blacks and Ireland, when a side led by his former assistant Steve Hansen denied Joe Schmidt's side a famous win at the Aviva Stadium in a 24-22 result.

"When they played the Irish here in 2013 was a prime example of virtually turning the impossible into the possible by scoring in the last minute of the game," he said.

"The more you experience [those situations], the better you are able to handle it because you've gone through that process."

Henry also spoke about successfully evolving as a coach and as a setup after the 2007 World Cup.
