Irish-trained fighter Gunnar Nelson is to fight in London on March 18th.

The SBG fighter, currently ranked #9 in the UFC's welterweight division, will meet Alan Jouban in the co-main event of the UFC Fight Night in The O2.

Nelson, who last fought in May, defeated Albert Tumenov in two rounds in Amsterdam. He was due to fight Dong Hyun Kim in Belfast last November, but had to pull out of the fight due to injury.

The Icelandic fighter, who trains with the likes of Conor McGregor in SBG, will fight Jouban, who has won five of his last six fights.

In what promises to be an exciting night for Irish fans, Donegal's Joe Duffy is also competing on the card in London. He fights Reza Medadi on the preliminary card.

Nelson has previously fought twice in London in the UFC, beating Jorge Santiago and Omari Akhmedov in 2013 and 2014.

A win for Nelson could push him further towards the top five of the UFC's welterweight rankings.
