Harry Kane on course for the Golden Boot

Harry Kane looks set to end the season as the Premier League's top goalscorer.

The Tottenham striker scored four goals on Thursday night, as his side were 6-1 winners away to last year's champions Leicester City.

Kane has now scored 26 goals this season. He is two goals ahead of Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Golden Boot.

What makes Kane's achievement all the more impressive is that he has played over 600 minutes less than his Everton rival this season. Lukaku has played in 36 or Everton's 37 games, while Kane has missed eight games for Spurs.

Tottenham play Hull City on Sunday afternoon, hopeful of adding to his season's total. The 23-year-old's 26-goal total is the highest of his Premier League career. It is the third season in a row he has broken through the 20-goal league barrier.

Despite being two goals behind Kane, Lukaku could still win the title, with a strong performance on Sunday. Everton are away to Arsenal, with the Belgian needing to score two goals.

In the Premier League era, Everton have never had a Golden Boot winner, while Tottenham had the first. In 1992-93, Teddy Sheringham scored 22 league goals. 21 of those came for Spurs after an early-season move from Nottingham Forest.
