Harry Kewell wants to manage Liverpool in the future

Former Liverpool player Harry Kewell says managing the Anfield club would be his "ultimate goal."

The Australian played for the Reds between 2003 and 2008 and is now coaching the under-21 side at Watford.

Speaking to media in his native country, he said: "I'm a big dreamer, so you might as well go to the top. I would love, my ultimate goal, obviously Liverpool, you look at AC Milan, the clubs I admired as I was growing up. If you want to dream big, you dream big."

Kewell is happy where he is at present learning from Walter Mazzari, saying: "You have to wait until an opportunity comes. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't I am at a great club and I am learning off one of the best."

He was in Australia after collecting the Alex Tobin award for his services to football. Speaking about the current state of the Australian "A" league he said: "At the moment you have got a good league happening. It's interesting now, people are watching it, I will watch it every weekend, that's what you want."

"You don't want to create an extra two or three teams and they become weak links because they are just filling numbers to be able to pass an extra round. As long as we can make these teams as strong as what we have got, fantastic,'' he added.
