Birmingham City have moved quickly to replace Gianfranco Zola by appointing Harry Redknapp as the club's new manager.

Zola resigned on Sunday after only four months in charge with a record of only two wins from 24 games.

Birmingham are currently 20th in the championship and sit only three points above the relegation zone.

Redknapp arguably enjoyed his most successfull stint as a manager when he was in charge ot Tottenham Hotspur between 2008-2012 when he had Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael Van Der Vaart in his team.

Birmingham play cross city rivals Aston Villa this Sunday.
