Have Manchester United unleashed another gem in Andreas Pereira?

Manchester United defeated Ipswich Town 3-0 in the Capital One Cup to advance to the Fourth Round. One of the highlights of the win was a goal by Andreas Pereira, but who exactly is the 19 year old?

He made his first team debut for Louis van Gaal's side as a substitute in the infamous 4-0 loss to MK Dons in last years League Cup before making his league debut against Tottenham in March. Last night was his first start for the club.

The 19 year old was born in Belgium to Brazilian parents, as his father Marcos played for KV Mechelen. Andreas represented Belgium at underage level before switching alliegences to Brazil in time for the Under 20 World Cup earlier this year. He scored for Brazil in the final as the South Americans lost 2-1 to Serbia.

He joined United's Academy in 2012 before moving his way through the ranks and into the first team squad.
