Hughie Fury given World Heavyweight Title shot

Hughie Fury, cousin of former World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is to fight for the WBO title in May.

The unbeaten 22-year-old with fight New Zealand's Joseph Parker in Auckland's Vector Arena on May 6th. The fight is Parker's first defence of his title, after he defeated Andy Ruiz in December for the belt vacated by Tyson Fury.

Fury only made his professional debut in March 2013, and his 20-0 in his career, with ten of those wins coming by knockout. The 22-year-old will not have fought in over a year, by the time he meets Parker. His last win came in April 2016, when he defeated Fred Kassi for the WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title.

One fighter should lose their unbeaten record in Auckland, with Parker (the first New Zealand-born World Heavyweight Champion) owning a 22-0 record. 18 of those wins have come by knockout.

"Tyson has already done it. I'm the next one in line", Hughie revealed. "I'll win this title. Tyson can come back and we can rule this heavyweight division together".

The Klitschko brothers ruled the heavyweight division during the 2000s. Hughie Fury hopes he and his cousin Tyson can do the same.
