Hungary qualify for Euro 2016 after play off win

The seeded team that everyone wanted in the Euro 2016 play offs are heading to France.

Hungary were widely seen as the weakest of the seeded teams ahead of the draw, with many Irish fans hoping for a trip to Budapest. Last night they defeated Norway 2-1, to advance 3-1 on aggregate.

The Magical Magyars have qualified for their first major tournament since the 1986 World Cup. The participation in France will be their first in the European Championships since the 1972 World Cup.

Bernd Storck's side took the lead after 13 minutes through an excellent strike by former Watford and Ipswich midfielder Tamas Priskin.

They assured their tickets to France with a Norwegian own goal late in the game to send to home fans crazy with delight.

Hungary will join the likes of debutants Iceland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Albania and Slovakia in ensuring the expanded tournament will have a unique feel to it next summer.
