"I couldn't stand up straight and I couldn't run really" - Seamus Coleman feeling better after injury scare

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic landed on top of Seamus Coleman in the early stages of Everton's 1-1 draw with Manchester United, fans of Everton and Ireland worried for the Donegal defender.

He left the field on 67 minutes to be replaced by Mason Holgate, but Coleman told Off the Ball's Nathan Murphy that he felt better after the game.

"I'm not one to come off. I don't know the ins and outs of the injury yet. It's feeling much better now, after the game. I couldn't stand up straight and I couldn't run really, so it was a cause of using your head."

"There's no point being brave and not being fit to play to your full potential, especially against a team like that, because you could be at fault for a goal. Your bravery would end up being stupid."

Coleman has seen Everton's league form struggle this year. After an excellent start in the Premier League under Ronald Koeman, the team have only won one of their last nine league games. The Ireland captain is unsure why the team have suffered a dip in form.

"It's one of them that you cant put your finger on. We know we've taken our foot off the gas which we shouldn't have. Performances haven't been great. I thought today, we went back to basics, and tried to get it up to [Lukaku] early... That draw will give us confidence going into the Watford game."

The Killybegs defender made his debut for Everton, in the Europa League over seven years ago. Depsite numerous campaigns in the Europa League, he still has his eyes set on a Champions League campaign with the team.

"I'm 28. I make no secret of it that if I end my career having not played Champions League football I'll be disappointed. It's something that I want. We got a good manager here now. He's going to need time to get his stamp on things. Hopefully at some stage in my career, I'll be able to play Champions League football."

Asked by Nathan Murphy, if he would have to consider his future, to assure a Champions League debut, Coleman reemphasised his desire to make that leap with Everton.

"I love it at Everton and nothing would make me happier to get Champions League football with this club."
