"I don’t care what Gary Neville said" - Loris Karius' issues withering response after criticism

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has hit back at Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville after the latter's criticism of his performance against Bournemouth last Sunday.

The German summer signing was criticised for his part in Liverpool's 4-3 defeat on the south coast, when they had been 3-1 up.

Karius failed to gather a late shot against the Cherries with Nathan Ake bundling in the rebound to give Bournemouth a winner.

That incurred criticism from ex-Man United defender Neville and fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

Karius was more open to the remarks from the latter but bluntly swatted away Neville's comments.

"Carragher was here at Liverpool for a long time so maybe after the game he was a bit frustrated," he told The Daily Mail.

"He is probably still a supporter. I have to accept it. What critics say right after the game, I don’t know what I think. If you asked them again would they say it now?

"And I don’t care what Gary Neville said. He was a manager for a short bit and now he is back to being an expert again.

"But he is always very critical. I think he does it to everyone. I just hope that when I do well he will comment on that. We will see in the future."

Neville's managerial career so far has only lasted four months. He was appointed as Valencia boss on December 2nd 2015 before being sacked in March of this year after a difficult spell that yielded a win percentage of 35% in all competitions.
