"I told my coach that I'd knock him out with an uppercut" - Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson reflects on KO of Glover Teixeira

Anthony Johnson made light work of Glover Teixeira during last night's UFC 202 event in Las Vegas.

The light-heavyweight number one contender needed just 13 seconds to finish his opponent and set up a title fight with Daniel Cormier (DC).

Speaking to BT Sport after the bout, he explained that the fight had gone exactly to plan.

"He threw a couple of punches and they clipped me but it didn't hurt me," he said. "I had told my coach this morning that I was going to knock him out with an uppercut and that's exactly what happened.

"I always visualise what I'm going to do to my opponent and most of the time I know what's going to be the finishing move and it worked out perfectly this time."

Asked whether he was surprised the Teixeira pressed him hard in the opening staged of the fight he responded: "Everyone saw the fight with DC, I gassed. Daniel put a lot of pressure on me and people want  to go off with that fight and think that's how they're going to beat me.

"A lot of people don't realise how much heart I have and how hard I train."

The pair look set for a fight sooner rather than later, given to the fact that the fight was finished in such a quick time, meaning he will need little or no recovery time. So where does Rumble want his title shot?

"Madison Square Gardens in New York City. I want to be part of history. My favourite boxers have boxed there, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali. Everybody who is a true legend in fighting period has fought there and I want to be the first to fight there and make history."
