Ronda Rousey has revealed that her career as an MMA fighter is coming to an end.

The former Women's UFC Bantamweight champion will challenge Amanda Nunes to reclaim the title this December at UFC 207, after spending over a year out of the Octagon.

Speaking on The Ellen Show, Rousey said that the fight against Nunes will mark one of her last competitive bouts.

"Not that long. I'm wrapping it up. This is definitely one of my last fights. Everybody better watch because the show isn't going to be around forever."

She added:

"I think it's more the build up that's more tiring than anything else," Rousey confessed. "If we had a fight right now, I'd fight right now and then I'd go get dinner and I wouldn't feel tired about it. It's the weeks and weeks of build up beforehand and you know you're fighting this one person, it's like your showdown, the most important thing in your whole life and then millions of people are watching. It's that build up for weeks on end.

"If it just happened right now, I wouldn't be nervous at all. It's the waiting."

According to FOX Sports, Rousey is keen to pursue a few specific matchups before the end of her career. In addition to the title fight, the 29-year-old is also believed to be targeting a rematch with Holly Holm to atone for the loss in Melbourne which brought her dominance in the Bantamweight division to an end.

Rousey (12-1) is credited with the introduction of women's divisions to the UFC since her arrival in 2013. After headlining UFC 157, her profile ascended and she was quickly regarded as a poster girl for the franchise. Her fame was further driven by her picture appearing on magazine covers and landing roles in Hollywood movies.

There are also references to Rousey in some rap songs, including Eminem's 'Shady XV' in which he called her a 'slaughterhouse in a blouse.' Rousey said that was 'cool' during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
