Cork City and Derry City have closed the gap on Dundalk at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

With Dundalk in FAI Cup action - they beat Crumlin United 5-0 in the third round tonight - second and third-placed Cork and Derry made sure to keep the pressure on with wins.

Cork City made light work of a clash with Bray Wanderers at Turner's Cross to win 4-0 with goals from Gearoid Morrissey, Gavan Holohan, Kenny Browne and Sean Maguire.

Derry came out on top 1-0 away from home against Shamrock Rovers thanks to a Rory Patterson goal.
