Tipperary took pole position in Division 1A today, following a clinical display against Waterford. John McGrath hit 1-6 and John O’Dwyer chipped in with five points on route to an impressive victory over Derek McGrath's side.

Clare cruised to a 13 point victory over All-Ireland finalists Kilkenny. Brian Cody's charges are yet to register a win in the campaign and currently sit bottom of the table.

Meanwhile in Division 1B, Wexford edged the win against Galway on the day of Joe Canning's return to action for the Tribesmen. Canning scored a goal from a penalty shortly after his introduction, but it was not enough to steer Galway to victory, with Conor McDonald hitting two points in jury time to seal the win for Wexford.
