Inter Milan have appointed former Roma manager Luciano Spalletti as their new manager.

The Serie A giants are looking to bounce back after a campaign which saw the three time European Cup/Champions League winners finish 7th.

Spalletti led Roma to a club record points haul last season as the capital club finished second, thereby securing an automatic place in the Champions League group stages for next season. However, the club decided to part ways with him at the end of the campaign regardless.

It was his second spell in charge at Roma, having been in charge during a relatively impressive period between 2005 and 2009 which saw the club win two Coppa Italia trophies in a row.

In between his two periods in charge at Roma, Spalletti also managed in Russia where he led Zenit St Petersburg to two league titles and one Russian Cup.

Inter Milan have gone through nine managers since the departure of their treble winning manager Jose Mourinho in 2010.
