The Ireland women's national side have defeated Slovakia 1-0 in their friendly international at Tallaght Stadium.

Stephanie Roche converted a second half penalty for Colin Bell's side, after a foul on Megan Connolly.

There were more than 1,000 supporters in the stands at Tallaght Stadium, six days on from the press conference in which the Irish team had highlighted issues surrounding conditions.

The issues were highlighted last Tuesday morning after players held a press conference to air their grievances with the FAI.

Reimbursement for loss of earnings through attending international games, match fees and tracksuits for team members travelling to and from games were all highlighted.

In the early hours of last Thursday, talks between the team and the FAI ended in a "successful conclusion"

Players had not attended training last Wednesday as dialogue began but returned on the Thursday to prepare for the Slovakia match.
