Earlier this year Ireland defeated New Zealand in their Pool A match in Manchester in the 2016 competition. Nigel Carolan's side eventually reached the final before losing to hosts England. The loss to Ireland meant that New Zealand missed out on the semi-finals for the first time ever since the annual competition began in 2008.
The two sides have been drawn in Pool B with Scotland and Italy. All three Pool games will take place in Kutaisi, which is located 200-kilometres north of the capital Tbilisi.
Ireland's three games will take place over a nine-day period in May and June. Their first match is on May 31st against Italy, and concludes with a potential pool decider against New Zealand on June 8th.
The final takes place in Tbilisi's Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi on June 18th.
