Ireland's Ryan Mullen shines in Road Cycling World Championships' Individual Time Trial

He was close to a podium place

Ireland's Ryan Mullen has finished fifth in the men's Individual Time Trial at the Road Cycling World Championships in Qatar.

Germany's Tony Martin claimed a record-equaling fourth title in a time of 44:42:99.

Second went to Vasil Kiryienka of Belarus and third to Spain's Jonathan Castroviejo.

Mullen finished 1:21:75 off the lead to take an impressive fifth.
