Irish golfers Gary Hurley and Michael Hoey have missed out on European Tour cards for next year.

Hoey finished just two shots adrift of the crucial Top 25-plus-ties at Q-School in Girona.

A place in the Top 25 or being tied for that position would have been enough to secure a tour card.

But alas, it was not to be for the Northern Irishman.

Having sat about two shots off the Top 25 at the start of action, he finished even par in his sixth round to finish 3-under overall, with those tied for 25th on 5-under.

Waterford golfer Hurley finished a shot further back from Hoey.

A 2-under 70 pushed him up the leaderboard in his sixth round but given the deficit he started off on behind the Top 25, it was always going to be a tall order.
