Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien takes podium sweep at the Prix de l’arc de Triomphe

Irish jockey trainer enjoyed a sensational 1-2-3 sweep at the Prix de 'Arc de Triomphe today.

Four-year-old filly led the charge to win the most prestigious horse race in Europe with Highland Reel and Gold Cup hero Order of St George taking second and third to cap off an outstanding day for O'Brien.

Found, who was saddled by Ryan Moore, took the lead heading into the final two furlongs and maintained the advantage to claim the €5 million prize money.

Speaking after the race, a delighted Aidan O'Brien told the Irish Times he was proud of the 'team effort' that delivered the podium sweep and put the scale of Found's achievements into perspective:

"I couldn’t dream this would happen. You know how difficult the Arc is. She’s only run over a mile and a half four times before and she was unlucky in the Arc last year. Epsom (Coronation Cup) was also a falsely-run mile and a half, and we came here very hopeful after a good run last time."

"We’ve had our eye on this for a long time. When Ryan rode her as a two-year-old and said she could win an Arc – he was obviously right. It’s a great feeling to saddle the first three home in an Arc, there’s not much to beat it, but it’s all down to a fantastic team effort and I’m delighted for John (Magnier), Michael (Tabor), Derrick (Smith) and their families."
