Leinster have one win from two in their opening Pro12 matches.

Despite last weekend's loss to Glasgow, one of the bright lights of the opening rounds has been Joey Carbery. The 20-year-old has started the opening two games at fly-half scoring 20 points.

Earlier this week on Off The Ball, former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan said he was impressed with he has seen from the former Clontarf star.

"In terms of execution, he ticks all the boxes.I think he's the real deal. Leinster seem to have stumbled upon a diamond."

On Wednesday night's Off The Ball, Irish Times rugby correspondent Gerry Thornley added that the New Zealand-born Athy native will be in the Leinster colours for many years to come.

"Joey Carbery is a long-term investment for Leinster Rugby, who's going to undoubtedly pay fruition. He's going to be an amazing player for the province."

Former Ireland captain Keith Wood has also been impressed by Carberry. He feels that the innocence of youth in the fly-half's game is helping him thrive.

"I love that sense of exuberance of a young ten or a young nine, that's willing to have a bit of a go, that's will to pull the trigger on a couple of things... What he has is a bit of time on the ball and composure. I felt he led the backline, and that's pretty impressive."

Carbery has been named in the team for Leinster's Pro12 game with Edinburgh in the Scottish capital on Friday night.
