"I've got news for you" - Paddy Mulligan predicts Pep won't improve Raheem Sterling

Paddy Mulligan believes Pep Guardiola has his work cut out to improve Raheem Sterling as a player.

The winger endured a difficult Euro 2016 with England to say the least but Manchester City fans will hope that Guardiola can develop his game and improve his confidence.

But ex-Chelsea, Ireland and Crystal Palace full-back Paddy believes there is little hope of an improvement in ability happening.

"It's not a lack of confidence. I've got news for you. It's a lack of ability. That's the type of player Sterling is. I've said this before and people might laugh about it but he can't kick a ball and he can't head a ball and his football intelligence level is very, very low and yet Man City paid £49 million for him," said Paddy, adding that his one good half-season at Liverpool owes much to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

"And it's not going to get any better for him. Guardiola is going to have to do an awful lot of work on Sterling to get him back anyway right again."
