Everton captain Phil Jagielka is happy with the progress the club is making ahead of the new season.

The Toffees have been busy in the transfer market so far, bringing in Sunderland's Jordan Pickford and Ajax captain Davy Klaassen, for a combined £50 million.

Everton finished in 7th place last season and will need reinforcements ahead of their Europa League campaign.

"It's nice to see that we've got a few players in," said Jagielka, adding: "Quite a few young lads as well for the club moving forward.

"It's fantastic, we won't see them for a few weeks because most of them are still playing in the under-21 tournament but it's nice to see the club are progressing well."
